Keller Williams Realty Partners with Lupa Zoo in Ludlow

LUDLOW – This year, as Himalayan black bears at Lupa Zoo wake up from their long winter’s nap, they’ll be red in the face – but not from exertion. They’ll be surrounded by as many as 50 red-shirted volunteers from Keller Williams Pioneer Valley, who will be sprucing up the zoo’s grounds and landscaping to enhance the visitor experience for area families and school groups.

Keller Williams’ annual RED Day as it’s called – Renew, Energize, Donate – will be held May 8 this year; it’s an international day of community service for Keller Williams, bringing together thousands of real estate professionals around the world to contribute to causes that matter.

“Community service is built into our DNA, and all of our agents actively give back to their communities in various ways throughout the year. RED Day highlights our year-long effort through a group volunteer event,” said Charles Reiter, a Keller Williams team leader from the Longmeadow office.

Introduced in 2009, RED Day has become Keller Williams’ signature day of service. Each year on the second Thursday in May, associates spend the day serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities. Keller Williams volunteers at Lupa Zoo will represent the Longmeadow, Northampton and Feeding Hills offices.

Joan Lupa, president of Lupa Zoo, said, “This has been one of the longest and coldest winters I can remember. The animals have kept warm indoors, but we have a lot of work ahead of us to open for the season. We welcome support from organized volunteers.”

Lupa Zoo (www.lupazoo.org) is a conservation and an educational institution in Ludlow, Massachusetts, operated by Lupa Game Farm, Inc., a recognized nonprofit organization. Lupa Zoo opened to the public for the season on April 19.

Keller Williams Realty, Inc., is a real estate franchise company. Each Keller Williams office is independently owned and operated. Keller Williams Pioneer Valley operates offices in Longmeadow, Northampton and Feeding Hills.
