Press Releases

As longtime journalists, we have a niche in the area of public relations and are adept at helping businesses and nonprofits gain recognition in the media. We know what news editors are looking for and craft press releases that position our clients’ news, events and success stories in a professional and effective manner.

A press release is a smart idea for a new business or organization or one that has a new service, a new product or a testimonial that has a community benefit. Other reasons to send a press release include when your organization, or someone in it, has won an award or received a grant; when your office is relocating; or when you are hosting or sponsoring an event.

Our press releases are distributed to roughly 40 editors at print, online, television, radio and cable news organizations, including the Daily Hampshire Gazette, The Republican and BusinessWest. We make every attempt to engage editors in publishing and airing clients’ news. However, we cannot guarantee that any item will be used. We can guarantee that we will use our knowledge and experience to best position releases.

We have four cost tiers in this service area.

Tier One:

Sometimes clients like to write their own press releases, and they do a good job of it. We edit their release to make it consistent with news style and check for spelling and grammar issues. Service includes editing, distributing to our media contacts and posting on Paradise City Press, an online news service serving the Pioneer Valley.

Tier Two:

Typically a news item, this release requires us to conduct one interview – a business owner, for instance, or the executive director of a nonprofit. Service includes writing, editing, distributing to our media contacts and posting on Paradise City Press, an online news service serving the Pioneer Valley. Pitches to select media outlets are available when deemed appropriate and require an additional fee.

Tier Three:

This could be a more comprehensive news story or a feature story. These releases require us to conduct at least two interviews. Service includes writing, editing, distributing to our media contacts and posting on Paradise City Press, an online news service serving the Pioneer Valley. Pitches to select media outlets are available when deemed appropriate.

Tier Four:

This type of release allows in-depth storytelling on organizational successes, such as stories that show community transformation through a program or service. This type of release can require us to conduct up to four interviews. Service includes writing, editing, distributing to our media contacts and posting on Paradise City Press, an online news service serving the Pioneer Valley. Pitches to select media outlets are available when deemed appropriate.
