Young Artists Invited to Pop-Up Creation Station
Initiative is part of Celebrate Laconia and supports the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction
LACONIA—Young artists are invited to take part in a pop-up Creation Station on Saturday, Aug. 10, on Canal Street from 1 to 3 p.m. as part of a larger Celebrate Laconia event. The event is a benefit for the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.
Children from preschool through grade 12 can take part, creating an illustration using water color or acrylic paint, or colored pencils. They may also decorate a vinyl record album.
Members of the Beetle Books Challenge team will oversee the pop-up Creation Station; they will invite the children to tell a story about their artwork and use both the art and the story in the team’s annual printed anthology, “By the Kids,” sales of which also support the auction.
For more information, or to submit a story or piece of art for the book before the Aug. 30 deadline, contact Janice Beetle at [email protected].
