Author Jim Ricci
Jim Ricci of Haydenville is an expert on all things lawnmower. I helped him to produce Hand, Horse, and Motor: The Development of the Lawn Mower Industry in the United States, which was designed by my colleague Maureen Scanlon of The Creative and Murre Creative of Florence. The book features nearly 200 individuals or corporations that manufactured lawn mowers in this country and offers a snapshot on the patents, products, and historical contributions each brought to the industry. It also offers interesting anecdotes, photographs, and ephemera from the author’s extensive collection.
Authors Stephen Mundahl and Sharon Massoth
Steven Mundahl and his wife, Sharon Massoth, of Suffield, Conn., are the authors of The Alchemy of Authentic Leadership. With Susan Alston, I managed Steve and Sharon’s calendar of speaking engagements in western Massachusetts and promoted them by writing press releases.
Author Tom Zink
Tom Zink wrote Seasoned: A Memoir of Grief and Grace, a memoir of Tom’s unwitting grief journey of five decades that began when his older brother Steve was hit by a car and killed while on the paper route the two boys shared. I helped Tom to edit his manuscript and to promote it once it was published. His book is not merely a story of grief and recovery; it is also a poignant and, at times, humorous look at laughter and lightheartedness, winning and losing, and doubt and faith.
Baystate Medical Center
I write for Baystate Medical Center’s website and its physician magazine, AlphaSights. This tri-annual publication features the latest technologies, treatments, and programs at Baystate Medical Center.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital
With a former colleague, I conceptualized and developed new content for the Prostate Cancer section of the Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s website.
Boston University School of Medicine
With a former colleague, I created a trifold brochure that the school’s Department of Ophthalmology uses to create an awareness of the Ephraim and Dagmar Friedman Fund for Academic Excellence. Beetle Press also developed a four-page newsletter for BUSM in honor of the school’s renowned researcher and pioneer in cardiovascular epidemiology, the late Dr. William B. Kannel.
Daily Hampshire Gazette
I have written extensively for the Daily Hampshire Gazette in Northampton and its special publications, including Live Well, Visitor’s Guide, Many Hands, and the Funeral and Estate Planning Guide.

Brian Dillon and Catherine Bodley of Dillon & Associates, LLC, Certified Public Accountants provide a broad range of accounting and tax services, including tax preparation and planning. I have written press releases and created marketing collateral for the firm.
Elite Home Health Agency
The Elite Home Health Agency team is made up of over 30 certified nursing assistants, home health aides, and homemakers who have a passion for caregiving. I developed content for the Elite Home Health website.
Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts
I have offered writing, editing, and design services to the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts in producing its newsletter, Abundant Times.
Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art produces a donor newsletter several times a year. Called Sowing the Seeds, it features The Carle’s news and successes. I help museum staff edit and produce the magazine.
Family Legacy Partners
Karen Curran and Molly Keegan of Family Legacy Partners provide a solid foundation for financial planning and investment management. With Ruth Griggs, I wrote the firm’s website content and helped to develop the site.

Friends of Children
Friends of Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children involved in the foster care system in Massachusetts. I developed the agency’s website content and its enewsletter and wrote press releases to raise awareness about programs and services.
I organize and promote Glenmeadow Learning, the educational event series sponsored by Glenmeadow Retirement in Longmeadow. I also write blogs and oversee social media efforts by Glenmeadow. My efforts for Glenmeadow are often done in collaboration with Maureen Scanlon.
Holyoke Community College
I write stories for several of Holyoke Community College’s publications, including Alumni Connection, which features alumni stories.
Northampton Senior Center
The Northampton Senior Center produces regular print publications, featuring stories about its services and programs. In 2014, I led a series of workshops for staff writers and designers, offering information and tips to better the look of the publications and the quality of the writing.
Rotary District 7890
Established in 1905, Rotary International is a global service organization that brings together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services locally and worldwide. Rotary District 7890 encompasses Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. I have helped District 7890 raise awareness through press releases, social media, and flyers.
I write for Springfield College’s Triangle magazine, edit several other publications, and have researched and developed content for its marketing collateral, including postcards and a brochure.
Terra Missildine is the founder of Beloved Earth Company, a green cleaning business. I develop press releases for the firm and write content for Beloved Earth’s newsletter. I have also produced marketing collateral as well.
Formerly The Association For Community Living, Pathlight provides services for Pioneer Valley residents living with a disability and their families. They provide a continuum of support from infancy to old age with comprehensive services in five major areas—supported living, family services, employment services, social entrepreneurship, and recreation and enrichment. With Ruth Griggs, I write and distribute press releases for the organization.
The Republican newspaper in Springfield assigns me stories for its annual Outlook section, and I compile its weekly Voices of the Valley column, printed in the Monday Business section.
United Way of Hampshire County
United Way of Hampshire County is about advancing the common good. I write stories and press releases about United Way partners, volunteers, and community members served by the organization.
Westfield State University
Since 2001, I have overseen the content of Westfield State University’s alumni magazine, called Focus. Produced twice a year, Focus highlights the University’s students, alumni, faculty and staff, athletics, and Foundation.
